Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday demanded strategies to revive Pakistan’s exports and strengthen export-oriented industries.
Participants discussed a draft policy framework and presented proposals focused on expanding the country’s export base.
The prime minister described export-led industrial growth as essential for achieving Pakistan’s economic development targets. He said the government’s priority is to increase exports while providing greater facilitation to industries.
Shehbaz Sharif directed authorities to prepare a comprehensive plan to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and industries that can contribute to export growth.
He also emphasized the need to promote new businesses and emerging sectors capable of expanding Pakistan’s presence in international markets.
The prime minister also briefly discussed the importance of research, development, and innovation. He added that technological advancement and modernization are necessary for Pakistani industries to remain competitive.
