Discord and Microsoft have announced a new partnership that brings the cheapest version of Xbox Game Pass to Discord Nitro subscribers.
The move follows recent reports that Microsoft planned to include Xbox Game Pass in bundled subscription deals alongside other services.
The Game Pass version included with Discord Nitro is a lower-tier version called the “Starter Edition” without access to online multiplayer on consoles, and cloud gaming is limited to 10 hours per month.
On the bright side, it costs only $9,99 a month and also brings access to more than 50 PC and console games. It only comes with the $9.99 Nitro subscription and not Nitro Basic.
Game Pass is also being integrated into Discord’s “Now Playing” status feature.
Nitro subscribers will be able to launch Game Pass titles directly from Discord if they see a friend already playing a supported game. The feature will likely open the Xbox app before launching the game.
As part of the update, Discord Nitro users will also receive discounts of up to 30% on products from Logitech G, SteelSeries, and KontrolFreek.
Discord said the Nitro update is rolling out to users in phases over the coming weeks.
