Pakistani Passport Remains Among 5 Worst Passports in the Entire World

Pakistan’s passport has been ranked 100th globally in the latest Henley Passport Index, offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 30 countries.

The index compares 199 passports across 227 travel destinations and ranks them based on the number of countries holders can access without obtaining a prior visa.

Although Pakistan remains near the bottom of the rankings, its position has gradually improved since 2021.

Earlier this year, Pakistan climbed to 98th place from 103rd in 2025. However, the latest May rankings show a slight decline to the 100th position.

According to the report:

  • Pakistani citizens had access to 32 destinations in February 2026
  • The number fell to 30 destinations in the latest ranking
  • Only Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan ranked lower than Pakistan

The rankings continue to fluctuate due to changing global visa policies and bilateral travel agreements.

The latest index was dominated by Asian countries, with Singapore retaining the top position globally.

Meanwhile:

  • Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates shared second place
  • Sweden ranked third and emerged as the highest-ranked European country
  • Several European nations, including France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, were tied for fourth place
  • The United States ranked 10th globally

India’s passport also slipped in the latest rankings, falling from 75th earlier this year to 78th position.
