Sindh HEC Launches Scholarship-Based Blockchain Program for Students

The Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC), through its Directorate of Strategic Planning, has launched a scholarship-based blockchain skills development program for university students across Sindh.

Under the Sindh Blockchain Skills Development Initiative, SHEC will provide an 85 percent scholarship to selected students. This will reduce the student contribution to only Rs. 5,000, compared with the total program cost of Rs. 33,300 per participant.

According to the program announcement, four leading universities have been selected as partner institutions: NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi, Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, and Sukkur IBA University.

The initiative will accommodate 160 students from across Sindh and will focus on practical, industry-oriented training in blockchain technology and digital innovation.

The curriculum includes blockchain fundamentals, blockchain security, decentralized applications, cryptocurrency, smart contracts, and hands-on smart contract development.
