Honor has introduced the Honor 600 Smart, which carries the largest battery in the Honor 600 series outside China.
The phone also features a large 6.87-inch display, a durable body, and a dedicated AI button.
Design and Display
The Honor 600 Smart has a 6.87-inch LCD, making it one of the largest smartphones currently available. The display reaches up to 1,020 nits of brightness and has a resolution of 720 x 1,592 pixels. The relatively low resolution may appear stretched across such a large panel.
The phone measures 8.3mm thick. By comparison, the Honor 600 and Honor 600 Pro are 7.8mm thick and have smaller 6.57-inch displays.
Honor has tested the phone against drops from a height of 2.5 metres. It can also remain submerged in water at a depth of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes.
The rugged construction has received the Swiss SGS Premium Performance certification.
The phone is available in Black and Silver. It also comes with stereo speakers and a 400% volume boost mode.
Internals and Software
The Honor 600 Smart is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. The 4nm processor includes a sub-6GHz 5G modem. It is less powerful than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 used in the Honor 600, although it targets a different market segment.
Honor previously used the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 in the Honor Play 80 Plus, which has a smaller 6.61-inch 720p+ display and a 7,500mAh battery.
The Honor 600 Smart comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. The storage cannot be expanded. Honor says its RAM Turbo feature can increase the available memory to 12GB, although virtual memory does not perform as well as physical RAM.
The phone also includes a dedicated AI button.
Cameras
Full camera specifications have not yet been revealed. The Honor 600 Smart has a 50MP main camera on the back and can record video at up to 1080p, which is the highest resolution supported by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4.
The camera is an upgrade over the Honor Play 80 Plus, which has a single 13MP rear camera.
Battery and Pricing
The Honor 600 Smart has a 7,700mAh battery, compared with the 7,000mAh batteries in the Honor 600 and Honor 600 Pro. It supports 45W fast charging.
Honor France lists the phone as coming soon, but its price has not yet been announced.
