SG Power Limited has formally changed its principal line of business from power generation to the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector after completing all required corporate and regulatory approvals.
In a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company said the change follows shareholder approval through a special resolution passed at its Extraordinary General Meeting on May 13, 2026, and subsequent registration of the necessary filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
Under its amended Memorandum of Association, SG Power will now be authorized to import, export, manufacture, distribute, market, sell, install and maintain medical equipment, medical devices, hospital supplies and related healthcare products. The company will also be able to manufacture and trade pharmaceutical, medicinal and allied products, subject to applicable regulatory approvals.
The company said it is also undertaking the regulatory process to change its name so that it better reflects its new business focus. It will notify the Pakistan Stock Exchange and shareholders once the name change and related approvals are completed.
SG Power described the move as a significant milestone in its strategic transformation, saying it provides the regulatory framework to pursue opportunities in Pakistan’s healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
