Sharjeel Memon Challenges Public to Find One Damaged Road in Sindh

Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has claimed that not a single road under the provincial government in Sindh is in bad condition, while blaming the federal government for the poor state of roads under its control.

Speaking in the Sindh Assembly, Memon said he could challenge anyone to point out even one damaged road anywhere in the province that falls under the Sindh government.

He said roads managed by the federal government were in much worse shape and accused federal institutions of failing to build and maintain them properly.

He said all roads under the Sindh government had been developed to a better standard and added that the provincial administration was also laying paver blocks on unpaved routes in rural areas.

During his speech, Memon also defended the provincial government’s performance in education, saying 97,000 teachers had been recruited in public educational institutions without a single complaint. He claimed there had not even been allegations of candidates being selected through influence or money, and said the transparency of the recruitment process deserved appreciation.

On law and order, the senior minister said the security situation had improved across Sindh, not just in Karachi but also in Kashmore and Shikarpur.

Memon also criticized opposition members, saying they use infrastructure projects built by the Sindh government but avoid acknowledging them publicly. He specifically referred to Shahrah-e-Bhutto, saying opposition lawmakers travel on the road but do not praise the project.

He further said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had asked federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal to learn from Sindh’s public-private partnership projects.
