CDA Earns Rs. 54 Crore From Bus Stands and Public Spaces in FY26

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) increased its revenue by 63 percent during the fiscal year 2025 and 2026, with collections reaching Rs. 541.44 million, driven by higher income from parking facilities, license fees, and bus stand operations.

According to the authority’s latest Revenue Performance Report, total revenue rose from Rs. 332.54 million in the previous fiscal year to Rs. 541.44 million. License parking receipts remained the largest source of income, contributing Rs. 215.39 million, or nearly 40 percent of the total revenue.

Revenue from parking sites totaled Rs. 179.61 million, accounting for 33.2 percent of overall collections, while bus stands in G 9 and I 11 generated Rs. 146.44 million, representing 27 percent of total revenue.

Bus stand operations recorded the strongest year over year growth, with revenue increasing by 282 percent. Revenue from parking sites rose by 90 percent, while license parking receipts increased by 8 percent, reflecting improved management and enforcement of revenue generating assets.

The CDA also reported strong growth in revenue from open spaces. According to its Open Space Revenue Performance Report, collections increased by 62 percent to Rs. 208.5 million in the fiscal year 2025 and 2026 from Rs. 128.76 million a year earlier.

Revenue from outdoor seating generated Rs. 184.18 million, accounting for 88.4 percent of total open space revenue, while generator spaces contributed Rs. 24.32 million. The authority issued 450 licenses for open space usage during the fiscal year. Revenue from outdoor seating increased by 80 percent, making it the fastest growing segment, while revenue from generator spaces declined by 8 percent.

The CDA attributed the overall increase in revenue to stronger licensing practices, more efficient management of public spaces, and better utilization of commercial assets across the federal capital.
