KP Orders Action Against Schools Open During Summer Vacation

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has ordered action against private schools that are continuing academic activities despite the summer vacation schedule amid extremely hot weather.

According to a notification issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, reports received through social media and other sources showed that some educational institutions across the province were calling students to school in violation of the government’s decision.

The department warned that keeping schools open in the prevailing weather conditions could pose serious health risks to students.

Following the directive, the Private Schools Regulatory Authority directed all private schools not to remain open or call students for academic or co-curricular activities after June 30.

The managing director of PSRA and all deputy commissioners have been asked to ensure strict enforcement of the notification through regular monitoring and inspections of private and public institutions.

The notification added that institutions found violating the order will face strict disciplinary and legal action under the relevant rules and regulations.
