A premium Pakistani olive oil brand, Casa Lorelai has won a gold medal at the London International Olive Oil Competition 2026, marking a significant achievement for the country’s emerging olive oil industry.
Founded by Mohammad Hassan Tareen, the award-winning brand produces extra virgin olive oil from olives grown in Loralai, Balochistan. Tareen described the recognition as a milestone not only for his company but also for Pakistan’s growing presence in the global olive oil market.
Speaking to Geo News, Tareen said the London International Olive Oil Competition is one of the world’s leading contests, attracting around 1,200 to 1,300 olive oil brands.
An international panel of judges evaluates entries through blind tasting before awarding gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Tareen said Pakistan’s olive oil sector remains in its early stages but has strong growth potential. He noted that government initiatives are encouraging olive cultivation by providing internationally recognized olive varieties and supporting farmers across the country.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s permanent membership in the International Olive Council as a major step toward strengthening the country’s olive industry and expanding its international footprint.
The latest international award places Pakistan’s premium olive oil among globally recognized producers and underscores the growing potential of olive cultivation in Balochistan and other regions.
