Punjab Replaces Top Rawalpindi Officials in Major Reshuffle

The Punjab government carried out a major administrative reshuffle in Rawalpindi on Friday, replacing the commissioner, deputy commissioner, city police officer, chief traffic police, and several revenue officials.

Commissioner Abdul Aamer Khattak has been transferred and directed to report to the Services and General Administration Department with immediate effect.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema has also been transferred to the Services and General Administration Department. He has been replaced by Capt. (Retired) Nadeem Nasir, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad.

The government also transferred Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Capt. (Retired) Sheheryar Sherazi to the Services and General Administration Department. Capt. (Retired) Tayyab Sami Khan has been appointed as the new Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue).

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Saddar Hakim Khan has been transferred and replaced by Muhammad Akhter, who was serving as Assistant Commissioner Kot Momin.

In the police department, City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani has been transferred and directed to report to the Central Police Office in Lahore. Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has been appointed as the new City Police Officer of Rawalpindi.

The reshuffle also includes the transfer of the Chief Traffic Officer, making it one of the most significant administrative changes in Rawalpindi in recent years. The outgoing commissioner, deputy commissioner, and city police officer had all been appointed during the tenure of former caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and had served in Rawalpindi for nearly three years.
