Xiaomi has ended regular software support for 10 devices across its Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO brands.
The affected models are no longer expected to receive HyperOS feature updates, routine security patches or firmware updates after reaching the end of their official support periods.
Xiaomi’s support policy states that products placed on its End-of-Life list are no longer maintained with software, firmware or security updates, although the company may still issue a fix in exceptional cases involving a serious vulnerability.
Affected Xiaomi Devices
The latest group includes flagship phones, mid-range devices, and tablets:
- Xiaomi 12
- Xiaomi 12 Pro
- Xiaomi 12S Ultra
- POCO X5
- POCO X5 Pro 5G
- Redmi K60E
- Redmi 10 5G
- Xiaomi Pad 6
- Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro
- Xiaomi Pad 6 Max
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is among the most notable devices on the list, while the affected tablets include all three major models from the Pad 6 family.
What Happens After Support Ends?
The devices will continue to work normally even after software support ends.
Users can keep using their phones or tablets, including installed applications and existing features.
The main difference is that the devices will remain on their current security patch once regular updates stop.
That means newly discovered security vulnerabilities may no longer receive fixes, which can become increasingly important for devices used for banking, payments, or storing sensitive information.
No Future HyperOS Updates
The affected devices are also no longer expected to receive major HyperOS upgrades.
Xiaomi is currently preparing HyperOS 4, which is expected to introduce additional features, AI improvements, and visual changes. Devices that have reached the end of support are unlikely to receive the upcoming release.
Should Users Upgrade?
There is no immediate need to replace an affected device if it still works properly.
However, users who depend on their phone or tablet for sensitive applications may want to consider moving to a newer model as the security patch becomes increasingly outdated.
Xiaomi has extended software support considerably on some of its newer devices.
For example, the Xiaomi 15T Pro launched with a commitment covering five major Android upgrades and six years of security updates.
Newer Xiaomi flagship models also come with longer support periods than many of the devices now reaching end of life.
The change does not make any of the affected devices unusable, but owners should now be aware that regular security fixes and major software upgrades are effectively over.
