Punjab Police Gets a New App for Managing Legal Affairs

We have reached a point where the way forward is through digitization of current systems. It is about time that Pakistan government also starts automating their systems in the public sector. Digitization is not a luxury but a necessity in today’s world.

The government of Punjab is taking initiatives in this regard. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is helping out many departments in automating their systems. One such department is the Punjab Police.

This Tuesday, the police department was able to launch an app which will be used to monitor the developments of cases in a timely manner, thus reducing the completion time of cases.

A meeting was exclusively called to brief the department about this initiative. The Inspector General of Punjab Police, retired Capt Arif Nawaz, introduced the app and asked the concerned officials to upload all the relevant information about their departments.

Aim of the App

The app aims to keep all the senior officials in the department up to date on the proceedings of a case. It will help in keeping track of cases pending in court and their status.

The use of the application would help in analyzing the performance of officers pursuing the case, said the IGP.

This is a great initiative and we are hoping that it will soon be implemented in other provinces soon. Other departments of Government also need digitization because the manual systems are just too slow to keep up with the modern world today.
