PM Imran Attends Passing Out Parade of Islamabad Police

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan said that the police play a pivotal role in the uplifting of the country by creating a sense of security among its citizens. He stated this while addressing a ceremony of the 33rd passing out parade of the Islamabad Police at the Islamabad Police Lines today.

This is the first-ever police parade that the PM has attended. Additionally, he announced that the salaries of the Islamabad Police will be made equal to those of the Punjab Police.

He added that that peace and security are prerequisites of progress and prosperity, and that a peaceful environment builds the trust of investors.

PM Imran stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had revamped the police and that the people in the province now both acknowledge and give due respect to the force. He added that he wants to see similar changes in the entire country.

The PM also announced the health card facility for the personnel of the Islamabad Police and explained that all the police officers would be provided health cards with coverage worth Rs. 1 million to avail of medical facilities at any hospital.

The premier also revealed that the government has had a significant achievement on the economic front by the turning of the country’s current account deficit into a surplus for the fifth consecutive month after 17 years.

He said that the government has been pursuing the policy controlling expenditures in view of the country’s debt and that the expenses of the Prime Minister House have been reduced by 60 percent. Furthermore, he stated that the expenditures of the federal government have also been decreased.
