Warid Telecom (Pvt.) Ltd. achieves yet another milestone by signing MoU with Punjab University, the largest University of Pakistan. Signing ceremony took place on November 18th 2009 at New Campus Punjab University Lahore.
MoU was signed by Shahid M. Murtaza, General Manager Corporate Accounts and Enterprise Solutions, Warid Telecom and Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Vice Chancellor Punjab University.
This special offer aims at providing cellular and blackberry services to not only officials and employees but to the students of Punjab University as well. This will indeed help students in gaining more knowledge from Internet with the help of Black Berry services being provided by Warid Telecom.
And so, this means what? A label, that they are the official telco of the University of Punjab?

PU Officials, students will get discount on Warid services
LAHORE : (Thursday, November 19, 2009): Punjab University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Warid Telecom under which PU officials will get 35 percent discount and students will get 20 percent discount in the monthly line rent of post paid Warid connection. The close use group (CUG) calling rate shall be 0.25 paisa per 30 seconds for PU Officials and students when calling on only connection activated under this MoU.
PU Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran and Warid Telecom General Manager Shahid Murtaza signed the document of MoU. Punjab University Treasurer Amjad Saleemi, Director Planning and Development Tariq Majeed Qureshi, teachers and officials and representatives of Warid Manager Special Segment Shahzaed Kaifi were present there.
The PU officials faculty members and students may get Black Berry Services on discounted rate with free of charge since (for officials only) waive of security deposit (for officials only), SMS on-net charges Rs.0.50 per message and off-net (NWD) Rs.1.00 per message. The Warid will also provide PU a dedicated series of cell number in a row. Black Berry Pearl 8120 and Curve 8310 will be provided to PU officials on demand at 50% discounted rates and Curve 8900 and Black Berry Bold 9000 on 20% discount.
The PU Students during the stipulated term of studies at PU shall be eligible for 20% Line Rent discount on post paid packages to be bought on cash security deposit only besides 20% off on Black Berry handsets pearl 8120 and Curve 8310 only.
