A Pakistani doctor has made international headlines by winning a major award and cash prize for her contributions to science outreach and education.
Dr. Maheera Abdul Ghani has been named the winner of the 2025 Nature Inspiring Women in Science Award in the Science Outreach category.
Dr. Ghani, co-founder of WinSci Pakistan, received a $50,000 prize as part of the award, which was announced at a ceremony organized by Nature in partnership with Springer Nature and Estée Lauder Companies Inc.
The award honors individuals and organizations making significant efforts to inspire and support women in science.
WinSci Pakistan, established five years ago, focuses on mentoring, connecting, and empowering young women in the country to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Dr. Ghani’s work has been widely recognized for helping address the gender gap in scientific fields in Pakistan.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for Pakistani women in science and highlights the growing role of Pakistani researchers on the global stage.

Good work
Oh!!!I thought she has achieved something in research or developing some new techniques in the field of science or medicine… when she herself is backed by men… what is she going to achieve for the empowerment of women…
More then you Mrs. ZAIDI. SOFA crtisim warrior. Instead tongue leashing , do something postive.
Good term “tongue leashing”
Lashing*
Do you now the actual worth of what she did then kindly share. So that we can appreciate.
Noticed you didn’t prove her wrong . Go on. Prove it
Some sort short feeling at your end ?🤔
Noticed you didn’t prove Mrs zaidi wrong.
Very well said. If there is something worth publish it completely so that we can see what progress has been done in science in Pakistan apart from entering the list of research fraud.
Good Luck
Congratulations
We are proud of her…
Pakistani women are most talented in the world..
Ok prove it
Plz name some. Should be easy for you. Also lost their details of scientific progress.
I’ll wait
Defaming country for the purpose if awards….!!!
Is it the same mindset again which we saw some time back and again….
Some new invention, positive research innovation, etc… could gave made better headlines and made a good image of Pakistan, our motherland…
Do some awareness on the misconduct in science. Will this award money be utilized for any betterment? What are the achievements on which this is awarded. Details should be published if the announcement of award has been published.
What is focusing on half of the population, who is not even interested in it, going to achieve? These people and organizations are a joke. Just expoliting people for a made up concept of “egalitarianism”.
So 0 scientific contribution. 0 peer reviewed research papers , 0 actual science done , 0 actual science performed.
Just enrolled women and got a prize for it.
Imagine if Einstein, heisenberg and other nobel laureates just went to prizes instead of actual scientific research.
She looks like a model instead of a doctor 😂
