Telenor Opens Applications for Second Batch of its Velocity Program

Launched in February 2016, the Telenor Velocity program aims to help startup companies with promising and innovative products and ideas to overcome the barriers in launching themselves at a larger scale or for getting the business to the next level.

The first cohort of this program is running successfully (from March to September 2016) and applications for second cohort are open now.

Telenor Pakistan is hoping to induct 10 startups this time, as compared to five startups that were enrolled during the first batch.

Telenor, with its velocity program, is hoping to find synergies with startups and ideally it will be looking for startups that make business sense for the company.

Selected startups are offered access to all sorts of sales and distribution channels, support, APIs and other resources of Telenor Pakistan to expand their services to wider audience.

Telenor Velocity- Who Is It For?

Before you apply, make sure you fulfill the following criteria (as per Telenor):

• Your team should have a hipster, a hustler, and a hacker.
• Your product or service should be at a minimum viable stage.
• You should be able to demonstrate the investment potential of your product or idea.

Put simply, all you need is a potential product and a passionate team to apply for the program.

All the startup companies will be evaluated and the shortlisted startups will get the opportunity to get support for 6-months with the Telenor Velocity program.

Selected startups will get access to certain benefits, and in return, Telenor Velocity will take a certain share in equity for providing their infra-structure.
