As the number of coronavius cases are increasing day by day, health officials are finding it difficult to deal with. Among the most affected regions of the world, France has reported nearly 4,500 cases with 91 deaths.
To tackle the spread of this novel virus, the country’s perfume giants have joined hands by switching to make hand sanitizer.
French luxury goods group LVMH, which is also the parent company of Christian Dior, Guerlain and Givenchy, has decided to manufacture hand sanitizer and providing it to health authorities for free.
“Through this initiative, LVMH intends to help address the risk of a lack of product in France and enable a greater number of people to continue to take the right action to protect themselves from the spread of the virus.”
According to The Guardian, the production of this hydroalcoholic gel or hand sanitizer, will begin as soon as this week. An approximate of 12 tonnes will be produced, instead of the usual Christian Dior, Guerlain and Givenchy scents and make-up usually made at the three French sites.
The sanitizer will be delivered to French health authorities and a network of 39 public hospitals in Paris.
As the world is already facing a shortage of supplies like sanitizer and toilet paper, this move will definitely help in reducing the risk of contracting coronavirus.
