Humayun Saeed Supports Imran Khan’s Telethon For Flood Victims

It’s that time of year again, when heavy Monsoon rains even wash away houses. As floods devastate the public of Pakistan, Imran Khan is fundraising via a telethon. An effort even Humayun Saeed is supporting.

After taking over office telethon’s became a thing for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman. From just answering questions to seeking feedback on government efforts. Now Kaptaan is set to do another telethon in order to fundraise for the flood victims.

While many PTI supporters are spreading the word, veteran actor Humayun Saeed also asked his fans and followers to support the cause. The Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actor tweeted a poster with details of the telethon for flood relief. In his caption, he asserted that it is not the right time for political discourse.

“With hundreds of thousands of our brothers, sisters and children struggling to find shelter and food, this is no time for political discourse.”

He pointed out how helping fellow countrymen should be the top perogative right now.

“Our first priority must be to come together and find ways to help them [flood affectees], whether it’s through the government or any political party. … Please donate generously!”

Aside from the international telethon set to take place today, the former prime minister announced that PTI’s ‘tiger force’ would volunteer for relief work.

He promised that a committee would be set up under Sania Nishtar to ‘identify and coordinate funds allocation based on needs’.

Many other celebs are also supporting efforts to assist the flood affectees. Shehzad Roy also tweeted about the urgent need for help. He is known for his humanitarian efforts through his non-profit organization Zindagi Trust.

Mahira Khan also reshared a post by Alkhidmat Foundation, a non-profit working on-site to assist with rescue efforts and delivery of supplies.

While Armeena Khan shared links to some ‘reliable’ charities working towards rehabilitating flood survivors.
