The world fastest bowler announced the launch of his biopic in July on Twitter:

Beginning of this beautiful journey. Announcing the launch of my story, my life, my Biopic, RAWALPINDI EXPRESS – Running against the odds. You’re in for a ride you’ve never taken before. A first foreign film about a Pakistani Sportsman. Controversially yours, Shoaib Akhtar.

The film is being directed by Faraz Qaiser under the banner of Qfilm Productions.

Shoaib Akhtar made his debut way back in 1997 and it didn’t take much time for him to gain recognition with his ability of sheer pace and lightning-quick deliveries.

The Rawalpindi Express went on to pick up 178, 247, and 19 wickets in 46 Tests, 163 ODIs, and 15 T20Is respectively, with 16 four-wicket hauls, 16 five-wicket hauls, and two 10-wicket hauls to his name.
