You Can Now Groove to Official ‘Lahore Da Pawa, Akhtar Lawa’ Song As Much As You Want

The song of the year we didn’t ask for, but got anyway.

If we hadn’t had enough of mindless viral content this month, the catchphrase ‘Lahore da Pawa, Akhtar Lawa’ has just been turned into a song by music artist Sagar Khan and TikToker Khurram Gujjar.

Looks like the Akhtar Lawa phenomenon isn’t dying out anytime soon as the cringey catchphrase became the “inspiration” for a song, we thought we didn’t asked for but still got it.

The ‘Lahore Pawa’ beat Ayesha Mano to the punch as Mazhar Hussain Hashmi, along with the Pakistani music label, Suristaan Music, dropped a music video for the viral catchphrase on Tuesday.

The comical Punjabi rap song featured the Lahori politician vibing with music artists Sagar Khan and Khurram Gujjar, who hilariously roasted his ‘colorful’ personality.

The music video was shot at Khurram Riaz Gujjar’s home in Lahore.

Who is ‘Lahori Pawa’?

Chaudhary Akhtar Lawa is a businessman by profession, who become an internet sensation with his famous catchphrase and punch-motion combo earlier this month. His videos made rounds on social media, and his catchphrase, ‘Lahore da Pawa, Akhtar Lawa’ (The pillar of Lahore, Akhtar Lawa), became the next big viral trend on the internet.

He recently shed light on his insanely popular catchphrase and action, stating that it made him feel ‘energized and alive’, which is why he started using it in his now-viral TikTok videos.

We live in a strange society nowadays, which can elevate some random girl, dancing at her friend’s mehndi, to stardom overnight, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see Mr. Lawa becoming Pakistan’s next big pseudo-celebrity.
