Insecure Bollywood Quietly Removes Mahira Khan From ‘Raees’

Gives a whole new meaning to the song “Zaalima.”

If you thought India was not feeling the sting of 6-0 against Pakistan, you’d be wrong. In the most insecure and paranoid level of pettiness, Indian media and entertainment platforms have now quietly scrubbed Mahira Khan from the posters and thumbnails of the 2017 hit film Raees.

That’s not all, Zee Music even photoshopped her out of the music video for the song “Zaalima.”  Now it’s just Shah Rukh Khan looking lonely, as if he’s waiting for someone to Photoshop his co-star back in. Unfortunately for our zaalim neighbors, their editing skills can’t erase Mahira Khan entirely from Raees or its songs—at least not yet.

This isn’t the first time Indian media has been hunched over their computers, and working on Photoshop. Mawra Hocane was hilariously cropped out of Sanam Teri Kasam posters, leaving a bareback Harshvardan Rane looking like someone taking a cold shower.

Fawad Khan, too, has been wiped from the covers of Kapoor & Sons and its songs, after his latest Bollywood project was shelved thanks to the usual India-Pakistan drama. Oddly enough, Fawad still graces the cover of Khoobsurat—to all the angry Indian reading this, you better get on it fast.
