The late Aamir Liaquat’s first wife, Bushra Iqbal, addressed her motive for filing a case against Dania Shah for recording and sharing private videos of him.
The FIA arrested the Inaam Ghar host’s third wife, Dania Shah, from Lodhran, Punjab, on Thursday and a judicial magistrate in Sindh sent her to jail on judicial remand.
Not surprisingly, Aamir Liaquat’s first wife, Bushra Iqbal, who openly spewed vitriol against Dania Shah when their ex-husband died, celebrated the arrest outside the court on Saturday.
Bushra Iqbal had led the legal battle against Dania Shah over a property and defamation row. She spoke with the media reporters outside the court, stating that justice is being served, and said,
Dania was blackmailing Amir to leak his private videos. Amir was innocent and he suffered a lot. Therefore, I am doing all this just to get justice for Amir and it is between me and Allah.
She also added that she wants nothing to do with the late televangelist’s money because he was an innocent man.
“I am merely fighting for him to bring about justice for him. There are a lot of Amir’s fans who were hurt over what happened to him. Dania’s divorce was finalized and she was trying to extort money from Amir since day one of their marriage,” she stated.
Bushra Iqbal concluded that “girls like Dania Shah should be punished in order to set an example of how the justice system in Pakistan punishes those who cause trouble for others”.
Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain passed away on 9 June. His final days were marred with scandals, divorces, and controversies which not only took a toll on his mental health but tarnished his public image.
His third and final marriage to Dania Shah quickly turned sour and is said to have led to his deteriorating mental health.
The young TikToker had filed for divorce and had blackmailed him for money by leaking private videos of him on social media.
However, following Aamir Liaquat’s death, Dania Shah had claimed to be his widow and contested for a share of his property.
