BTS RM’s First Solo Album ‘Indigo’ Tops iTunes Charts Worldwide

Kim Namjoon (aka RM) of the world’s most popular and powerful boy band, BTS, released his first solo album, Indigo, with the debut track, Wildflower, featuring Cho Youjeen of the rock band Cherry Filter, last week. Both the song and the album soared to the top of the worldwide iTunes charts immediately after their release and currently maintain the number one spot for the fourth day in a row.

Wildflower’s music video on YouTube reached a staggering 10 million views within the first 24 hours of its release, which is now at 20 million.

The album had also already received over 20 million streams on Spotify within hours of its release, making it the biggest debut in Spotify history for an album by any Korean solo artist.

Music lovers chose the long-anticipated Indigo as their favorite new music release of the week in a survey released on Billboard on Friday.

The album outperformed new songs by Morgan Wallen (One Thing at a Time), Lewis Capaldi (Pointless), Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande (Santa, Can’t You Hear Me), Latto featuring GloRilla and Gangsta Boo (FTCU), and others.
