That’s because it is familiar. This romantic moment between Ayeza Khan’s Meenu and Osman Khalid Butt’s Faaz is a replica of a scene from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Salman Khan and Ashwariya Rai in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’.

They didn’t even bother changing anything from how Salman Khan and Ashwariya Rai did the scene. From the white and lavender clothing to the heart-to-heart while stargazing.

Chupke Chupke copied this scene from ‘Hum Dil Dy Chuke Sanam’.

The scene is a famous moment from Salman Khan and Ashwariya Rai’s song Chaand Chupa Badal Mein in the Bollywood movie Hum Dil Dey Chukay Sanam.

Taking inspiration from a scene is not uncommon. But replicating a scene down to the T is a whole other story.

The only difference was the actors being less affectionate on-screen given how Pakistani audiences react to PDA onscreen.

Of course, Netizens have a lot to say about this. This isn’t the first time a Pakistani drama landed in hot water for copying Bollywood content.

Fans pointed out how the drama serial was complete without this scene. Adding this ‘recreation’ was unnecessary, to say the least.

Comments

  1. Pakistan film industry ho ya Drama industry… India ko copy krnay ki luch zaroor marni hoti hai

  2. Have you actually seen the chupke chupke scene yourself? Because it may have been inspired by the Bollywood scene, sure, what with the colour schemes of the clothes and the guy pointing to the moon and the dupatta bit, but it was definitely NOT ‘replicated down to the T’. It was a much needed apology from Faazi followed by the return of their romance as the Ustaad ji and Meenu dynamic came full circle as well. There was so much more to that scene than just the Bollywood inspiration. Was that inspiration needed? Not at all. But was it everything in that scene? Absolutely not. Please don’t call it a ‘replica’ when it’s not.
Note for our drama makers: Khuda ke liye please don’t try paying homage to Bollywood like this. We don’t need it and then people start saying stuff like this which brings people to question the 80% original content. I mean, because of the clothes and two gestures that you brought in, people are questioning a 6-7 minute long brilliant scene.
