Did popular comedy cartoon show Family Guy predict Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards? The similarities between a scene from the show and the incident at the Oscars are eerily similar.
Actor and comedian Chris Rock came out to present the Oscar for the best documentary feature. The 57-year-old made a few jokes here and there. However, one of his jokes aimed at Jada Pinkett Smith backfired.
The comedian jokingly refers to Jada as “G.I. Jane” because of her shaved head. Jada Pinkett Smith has alopecia, which is why she shaved her head, and was not amused by the joke. However, her husband, Will Smith, got emotional and confronted Chris Rock live on stage. The Bad Boys star took to the stage to slap Chris as everyone gasped.
The incident left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth and went down in infamy as THE moment of 2022 Oscars. The King Richard actor has since gone onto social media to issue a public apology to the comedian Chris Rock, who did not file charges of assault against Will.
Ironically, cartoon series Family Guy predicted such a moment in one of their episodes. In one particular scene, Peter Griffin walks up to the stage (presumably an award show) and punches a presenter on stage. Check it out!
