Faryal Makhdoom, the wife of former British boxer Amir Khan and a popular YouTuber, revealed that she has received threats due to her support for Palestine.

She shared a screenshot of a threatening WhatsApp message from an anonymous Israeli number. The message offered her rewards if she stopped supporting Palestine and warned of severe consequences if she continued.

The message reads,

Faryal Makhdoom remained undeterred, stating that such threats wouldn’t stop her from speaking the truth. She explained in the overlaying text on the post,

I got this message last night, Like it’s going to stop me from posting the truth.

Makhdoom is one of the many public figures using her fanbase to draw attention to Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank since tensions in the region escalated after Hamas’ attack on Southern Israel on October 7. She took to her Instagram account to share a series of pro-Palestine posts and went on to condemn the Israeli government’s longstanding occupation of the Palestinian territories. Makhdoom also took her fellow celebrities to task for not taking a stand against the intensifying atrocities in Gaza.

Fan reactions to the post ranged from concern to appreciation for her continued support for Palestinians with a strong backlash from her pro-Israel audience to which she shot back in comments.

She referred to Hamas as a resistance group that emerged in response to the dire conditions in the besieged Gaza Strip, highlighting the need for resistance when faced with such circumstances.
