Despite there being barely any pictures of Junaid Safdar’s wedding online, we did get to see some interesting videos. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) heir, Junaid Safdar elaborated more on that.

In conversation with Current.pk, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s son spilled the tea on his wedding details and more on the viral videos from his wedding.

On the subject of his family’s melodious vocals, Junaid Safdar shared how it’s just a spur-of-the-moment thing. When asked if he’ll be singing at his wedding, the groom replied that he’ll just wing it if he does. We do know now that the nikkah song was one of his favorites.

“I have nothing planned in particular. It really depends on how the event proceeds. It was quite spontaneous during the Nikkah as well. Singing is something quite personal to me but because the nikkah was a strictly family affair.”

When asked if he sings better than Hamza Shahbaz, the groom openly admitted to not being as good a singer as ‘Hamza Mamu‘.

“I cannot possibly attempt to tackle the songs he sings so effortlessly.”

He even revealed more details about the wedding. According to Captain (R) Safdar’s son he will be hosting two receptions. One in Islamabad on December 14 and a Valima in Lahore on December 17. The young Safdar will then head back to London after the festivities.

“This event would be incomplete without Abujan’s [Nawaz Sharif] blessings, and the blessings of Hassan and Hussain Mamoo, my Khala [Asma], and Ali Dar Khalo.”

The wedding is the first family celebration after a long spell of turmoil both personal and political. Junaid opened up about recent tragedies his family dealt with.

“Political turmoil is a recurrent theme and therefore, insignificant when compared to personal, family turmoil. I am talking about personal, family turmoil here. My grandmother’s fight against cancer. The passing of my grandmother whilst my mother, grandfather and father were in prison. The passing of my great grandmother. The smiles have now returned Alhamdulillah and it’s a heartwarming sight.”

As for the honeymoon, Junaid Safdar didn’t reveal much. While his initial plans were finalized, the couple is currently waiting for further COVID-related information.
