Amid the ongoing beef between Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and Marvi Sirmed, most are trying to steer clear of the writer. Geo TV decided they won’t be working with Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar after all.
Geo Entertainment and 7th Sky Entertainment were supposed to work alongside the Pyarey Afzal writer. Yet following his abusive behavior towards women’s rights activist Marvi Sirmed, the network didn’t want any bad press.
Marvi Sirmed demanded that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar apologize, but the writer refused to do so stating he was in the right.

This was followed by much backlash towards the Landa Bazaar writer. No wonder Geo TV suspended their contract with the writer until he apologizes to wash away that bad blood.
The television network broke the news of their decision via social media on Thursday.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Not Interested
According to Geo TV’s official statement, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar had been signed for four drama scripts and a film script with the network. Despite Geo TV’s leeway to resume the contract as soon as Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar apologizes, the writer voiced no intention of doing so.
Instead, he informed his fans that he’s canceling the contract. He added;
“I will not work with this institution for my life to come.”

Besides the fraternity, even the Minister of Human Rights lauded the move.

Mr Qamar should not have lost his cool but some decorum needs to be maintained by the woman in question too. He was provoked and insensed by the indecency and tone in which things were being discussed and being directed towards him. Geo should not punish him for having a frank and honest opinion.
I am a strong, self-sufficient, professional women born and brought up in the UK and can see Mr Qamar’s view-point. There is no place for vulgarity and indecency.
The highjacking of womens rights issues by a minority of women who are using indecency and vulgarity for their five minutes of fame, is a gross injustice and disservice to all the women who truely suffer injustices. The misconduct of these few women will only serve to set-back and tarnish real discussion of the core issues.
Why we are blaming only one man for this talk show? Why don’t we see the abusive behavior of Marvi sirmed?
Is this what we called a healthy debate that Marvi Sirmed do against Khalil ur rehman qamar?
And what about those abusive words that Marvi Sirmed use in her daily basis tweets?
If she was not punished for his behavior so why we are to punishing Khalil ur rehman qamar?
This is totally unjust…..
