Even after the passage of 8 years, cult hit drama Khuda Aur Mohabbat’s fan-following is still going strong. In fact, fans can’t wait for KAM’s season three.

As it turns out, Imran Abbas is no longer part of the franchise, which has led fans to ask – who’s the new male lead?

The Wait for Khuda Aur Mohabbat Explained

The second season of KAM ended on April 1, 2017, with plans for the next one still up in the air.

Babar Javed was supposed to continue with season three of Khuda Aur Mohabbat. Director Shahzad Rafique was also roped in for the same. However, the project faced more delays as Babar Javed was replaced by Abdullah Kadwani as the head of Geo TV. KAM was then put on hold.

Babar Javed had also made casting changes for the drama serial’s season three. Moray Saiyan actress Neha Rajpoot was brought on board with Imran Abbas.

With Babar Javed gone, all that is no longer in the cards. Rumor has it that Do Bol and Yaariyan director Wajahat Hussain has been signed for season three.

There are talks of who will be the new male lead as Khuda Aur Mohabbat season three will revamp the serial. Word around the block is that Feroze Khan is being considered.

One thing’s for sure Imran Abbas is no longer a part of the franchise.

Rumor has it the project will go on floors in October.

Geo Tv’s Khuda Aur Mohabbat cast Imran Abbas and Sadia Khan as the leads. Following the success of the first season, it was renewed for season two, which started airing in 2016.

The first two seasons of the serial were so well received, now producers plan to carry on the saga with season three.

The drama serials are based on a novel by Hashim Nadeem. Badar Ikram helmed the adaptation of the novel into a serial. Later Babar Javed took over. Anjum Shahzad directed the first season whereas Syed Ali Raza Usama directed the second season.
