Man Arrested for Attempted Child Rape in Lahore

While the public is still simmering over the Lahore motorway incident, a man allegedly attempted to rape a child in Lahore. Thankfully, he was not allowed to succeed.

Police have arrested a man named Muhammad Jameel, who allegedly attempted to rape a 12-year-old girl.

ARY News reported that the police revealed that the little girl was on her way home when the suspect, Muhammad Jameel, dragged her into his house located within the jurisdiction of Islampura Police Station. The man then tried to rape the 12-year-old.

The neighbors responded to the child’s cries for help. They rushed into Muhammad Jameel’s house and rescued the 12-year-old victim. However, the suspect managed to escape before his neighbors arrived there.

Police rushed to the scene of the crime after being informed. They registered a case against the suspect, Muhammad Jameel. The accused was arrested in the police’s search operation in the area. The accused was apprehended in a raid on a home enacted by a tip-off.

Earlier on September 16th, police had arrested a man for attempting to rape an eight-year-old girl in tehsil Khanpur, of district Rahim Yar Khan.

The accused a shopkeeper had been caught red-handed by a citizen when he was allegedly trying to rape the child in Saddar area of Khanpur. Locals handed over the suspect to the police.

Child sexual abuse in Pakistan is not slowing down despite new federal legislation to curb the crime, the Zainab Alert Act.

Five-year-old, Marwah was raped, hit on the head, and set on fire earlier in southern Pakistan. Similarly,  a little girl who went out to buy cookies from a corner store was kidnapped in Karachi. Her body was found two days later with evidence of abuse.
