Marriyum Aurangzeb Calls on FIA to Take Action Against Adil Raja for ‘Character Assassination’ of Female Artists

“Society must condemn all those who promote the culture of such malign campaigns aimed at character assassination.”

The Minister for Information and Broadcast Minister, Marriyum Aurangzeb, has called on the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take legal action against controversial YouTuber, Adil Raja, and the involved in the ‘character assassination’ of female actresses.

Adil Raja

The former Army Major seems to be on everyone’s hit list after he supposedly made allegations against Pakistani actresses and senior Army officials. After an ISI Punjab head filed a lawsuit against Adil Raja, Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has urged the FIA to take action against him.

She has issued a statement condemning his ‘attack’ on female actresses through smear campaigns on social media platforms and stated,

The entire society must condemn all those who promote the culture of such malign campaigns aimed at character assassination, spreading insolence, and incivility.

Marriyum Aurangzeb further added that female artists are not only assets for the country but also a symbol for Pakistan at the international level. They earned a status in society through their hard work and achieve stardom after facing many difficulties.

She highlighted that character assassination against women starts when they reached a high level in journalism, politics, the arts, or any other field because of their gender.

Marriyum Aurangzeb also mentioned that some people are trying to denigrate women’s hard work, struggle, and capabilities. She believes that such smear campaigns will not stop women from achieving success as women have become a symbol of courage and determination.

The Minister for Information also said that “mentally retarded people” only care about their mothers’ and sisters’ honor and not of the other people. She added that some people abuse others because of their differences of opinion, launch vile attacks on women, and harass others’ mothers and sisters, which indicates how they were raised.

Note that her statement comes two days after Adil Raja supposedly made baseless allegations against prominent actresses like Mehwish Hayat, Sajal Aly, and Kubra Khan in a recent vlog. Kubra Khan subsequently threatened to sue Adil Raja for defamation after he shared the video on social media.
