Notorious Child Pornographer Thrown into Jail Again By Punjab Police

He had over 650,000 videos in his possession.

The Lahore High Court dismissed an appeal of Saadat Amin who was sentenced to jail for 7 years for being a member of an international child pornography racket.

Justice Farooq Haider dismissed the culprit’s appeal after hearing arguments from Amin’s counsel and the federal government.

 

Advocate Rana Nadeem Ahmad appeared on behalf of the convict/appellant Saadat Amin argued that his client was wrongly implicated in a false case. He stated the trial court handed down the punishment on the basis of insufficient evidence and faulty investigation. He said the appellant had not filmed the video of any alleged victims. Justice Haider dismissed the appeal while the decision on the suspension application stood.

Background of the case

Amin was sentenced to seven-year imprisonment on April, 2018 under Section 22 of Prevention of Electronic Crime Act 2016 with an imposed fine of Rs. 1.2 million. The Cybercrime Cell of the FIA arrested Amin on a complaint by the Norwegian embassy in 2017.

The prosecution stated that Saadat Amin was an active member of international racket operating online from Pakistan by engaging children between the ages of 10/12 years and used to transmit their pornographic pictures/videos outside the country for profit.

According to reports, over 650,000 pictures and videos were found from the convict’s possession. Amin was part of an international child pornographers ring that included Jan Lindstrom from Sweden, Giovani Betotti from Italy, Max Hunter from US, Andrew Moody and Mukhtar in the UK. The agency produced 11 witnesses against the convict.

  2. 7 years is not even a slap on the wrist for such a heinous crime. Pakistan’s Penal Code is absolutely preposterous at times. Adulterers are punished harshly than child pornographers and sex offenders.
