Pakistani Stars Shine at 2023 Red Sea Film Festival

Zarrar Khan’s ‘In Flames’ won top honors at the international film festival in Jeddah.

The third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival at The Ritz-Carlton in Jeddah reached its pinnacle as the stars from Pakistan stole the spotlight alongside Hollywood and Bollywood heavyweights.

In a moment of triumph for Pakistani cinema, Zarrar Kahn’s In Flames secured the prestigious Golden Yusr for Best Feature Film, making waves on the international stage.

The elated filmmaker took to Instagram to share his excitement, expressing his wish to be present at the festival in person. “I just found out that we’ve won the main prize at the Red Sea Film Festival. I wish I was there,” Kahn shared in a video message.

The festival, known for its glitz and glam, attracted Hollywood, Bollywood and Lollywood luminaries, with the likes of Johnny Depp, Will Smith, Sharon Stone, Michelle Williams, Freida Pinto, Joel Kinnaman, Alia Bhatt, Sofia Vergara, and Baz Luhrmann gracing the event with their presence.

Pakistani stars added a touch of glamour to the festivities, with renowned actors Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan, and Ahad Raza Mir making their mark on the international stage. Also in attendance were Pakistani-British boxing champion Amir Khan and his wife Faryal, adding a diverse and dynamic flavor to the event.

Social media platforms buzzed with excitement as pictures of Mahira Khan posing with Andrew Garfield and Humayun Saeed capturing a moment with Nicolas Cage circulated online.

The Pakistani stars seamlessly rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, showcasing the global appeal of Pakistani talent.
