Pakistan’s First Blind Civil Judge Gets Married

Pakistan’s first blind civil judge Yousuf Saleem just got hitched. Could ‘Shadi season’ get any more exciting than this?

This is the same judge who changed Pakistani history when he challenged the federal civil services system. Initially, Yousuf Saleem was rejected for the position of a civil judge due to his visual impairment. This is despite Saleem being the topper in the written exam!

Later, the then Chief Justice of Pakistan, Saqib Nisar took notice of the issue. After ruling in Saleem’s favor, the 25-year-old took the oath to be sworn in as a civil judge at Punjab Judiciary Academy on June 26, 2018.

Yousuf Saleem also a gold medalist from Punjab University and aspires to be the Chief Justice of Pakistan one day. While he has a long way to go before he achieves that dream, in the meantime he can enjoy living a regular life. Part of that is getting married just like everyone else.
