While people that live in more temperate areas certainly enjoy the snow, tourists from all over Pakistan also head out to the northern areas so that they can join in on the fun.

1.  Nathia Gali, Pakistan

The Murree weather may have the tourists bustling in, but head further up to Nathia Gali to see the real magic. The place is not just crammed with all of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but people come in from all over the country. The struggle to get there is real.

 2. Malam Jabba

Once home to Pakistan’s only ski resort, Malam Jabba is still a tourist favorite. The soft snow dunes are expected to cater to skiers with the current government’s plan to reconstruct the ski resort. It just got record snowfall as well.

3. Naran Kaghan

Naran is a town in upper Kaghan Valley of the Mansehra District, KPK. Tourists, trekkers, photographers and nature-enthusiasts swarm from all over the country when the snow falls.

4. Kalash Valley

The beauty of Kalash comes from the traditional norms and values of its residents not just the landscape. The natives have a 2000 year old dress code and learning how they live in sub-zero temperatures is the fun part. With the snowfall comes the season of the traditional game of snow golf.

Gilgit is all-beautiful but the valley of Hunza is the one to receive the most tourists. People from all over the country pour into the big valley surrounded by the mountains Ultar Sar, Rakaposhi, Bojahagur Duanasir II, Ghenta Peak, Hunza Peak, Passu Peak, Diran Peak and Bublimotin (Ladyfinger Peak).

7. Leepa Valley

This valley in Azad Jammu & Kashmir looks lovely in white in winter. The landscape covered with pine trees and the accompanying smell makes this place particularly exciting. Snowfall in Leepa is like a minty breath on your face.

8. Peer Chanasi

Peer Chanasi is in the capital city in Muzaffarabad, AJK. The valley has plenty of outsiders wandering in throughout the year. Winter is no exception to the tourist traffic.

9. Neelum Valley

The village of Kel in Neelum Valley hosts many tourists each year when the snowflakes fill the air. Kel is also the base camp to the highest peak which is Sarawaai Peak, 6326 meters above sea level. It is also home to the largest glacier, the Sarawaai Glacier that is 25 km long.

10. Ziarat

Ziarat in Balochistan has one of the most incredible snowfalls of this year. The pollution-free atmosphere there allows for cleaner, brighter, lighter snow.

The area is also home to the second largest Juniper tree forest in the world. The snow capped evergreen treetops are a breath-taking sight.
