These Pakistani Celebrities Fell Victim to Coronavirus This Year

While most of them have recovered, we wish the rest a speedy recovery!

Coronavirus wrecked many lives this year. It created havoc across economies, businesses and put a halt on some our basic everyday activities. Millions of people contracted the virus and around two million of them lost their lives.

Pakistan also faced several challenges and so far 461k cases have been reported by the health authorities. Among these rising numbers, some Pakistani celebrities also tested positive for corona.

Here we have a list of Pakistani celebrities who fell victim to the virus this year. While most have made a healthy recovery, a few are still fighting with it. Let’s take a look.

Mahira Khan

On December 13, the Superstar actress shared a note on her Instagram handle where she revealed that her test results came out positive. Mahira Khan also mentioned that it’s been quite tough for her but she is hopeful to return to her normal life soon. She is however in the recovery phase and we wish her best of luck.

 

Sheheryar Munawar

A few days back, Sheheryar Munawar tookj to Instagram to share some of the biggest struggles he faced this year with his fans. In a lengthy note, the Parey Hut Love star revealed that he contracted coronavirus a few months ago and just after he recovered from it, he met with a severe accident. The actor motivated fans to be resilient and stronger than ever.

 

Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz

Earlier in May, Good Morning Pakistan host Nida Yasir along with her husband and the entire crew of her show caught coronavirus. The morning show did not follow the necessary guidelines and continued filming during the lockdown.

 

Rubina Ashraf

In June of this year, veteran actress and director Rubina Ashraf tested positive for COVID-19. She was in critical condition and was even admitted to a hospital for treatment. However, she fought bravely and returned home in good health.

 

Abrar ul Haq

Pakistani singer, politician and activist Abrar ul Haq, who has been actively serving as the chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) contracted coronavirus in May. Taking to his Twitter, he requested his followers to pray for him. On June 24, the singer shared another tweet and said that after a second round of tests, his results came out negative.

Shehzad Roy

The Tera Mukhra singer revealed that he too had caught the novel virus in July. Taking to his Twitter, Shezad Roy shared that the entire family had positive, however, they were doing fine. He also shared a video, using entertaining visuals to educate others about how one should practice precaution and resist the virus in social settings.

 

Shahid Afridi

Shahid Afridi aka Lala is another Pakistani celebrity who got infected with the virus while he was working for charity events and corona relief funds. In June, he shared that he had been feeling unwell and upon testing, he discovered that he has contracted the virus. He requested his followers to pray for his speedy recovery.

 

Jawad Ahmad

As the second wave of coronavirus hit the country in recent days, many celebrities got infected. Singer and politician Jawad Ahmad also quarantined himself in November as he contracted the virus. However, he has now recovered and is doing well.

 

Usman Mukhtar and Ameer Gillani

While shooting for the final episodes of HUM TV’s hit drama serial Sabaat, actors Usman Mukhtar and Ameer Gillani tested positive for coronavirus in late October. The two had isolated themselves from their families and asked their fans to wear masks and follow SOPs.

 

Saheefa Jabbar

Last month, Saheefa Jabbar and her husband also shared their test results with their fans. Saheefa was preparing to launch her own brand, and during that process, she contracted the virus.

 

Mariyam Nafees

Mariyam Nafees is another Pakistani celeb who got infected with the virus. However on December 15, she shared the news of her recovery on Instagram.

 

Behroz Sabzwari

Veteran actor Behroz Sabzwari just recently made a safe and healthy recovery from COVID. His symptoms were minor but he was above sixty years of age, he was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi.

Neelam Muneer

Just yesterday, Neelam Muneer shared with her fans that she has finally recovered from coronavirus. In a video message, she thanked her fans for their prayers and Allah Almighty for blessing her with good health. The Dil Nawaz actress had revealed that she is the latest victim of the virus on December 9

 

Sanam Jung

Television actress and host Sanam Jung and her daughter recently tested positive for the virus. While she hasn’t shared any update on her health, Sanam did however appreciated a fan’s gesture who made a get well soon card for her. We hope that Sanam and her daughter make a speedy recovery.
