‘This is What People Want to See’: Nida Yasir Defends Her Talk Show

Pakistan’s morning show queen, Nida Yasir, is often under fire because of her controversial and questionable antics or invitation of useless viral people on her show. She recently appeared in an interview and cleared the air regarding the criticism she has to face for inviting social media sensations.

Nida Yasir was invited to The Talk Talk Show and she opened up about her program’s guest choice and said,

I am not responsible that deserving people are not getting enough credit for their achievements, it’s the public. That’s what the audience wants to see.

She claimed that the people who are invited to her shows are the ones the audience is most interested in.

Nida Yasir recalled when she invited the viral overnight sensation, Dananeer Mobeen aka ‘Pawri Girl’, with Zara Naeem, the girl who got the highest score in the ACCA exam to her show in 2021 but ironically, only the video clips of Dananeer Mobeen went viral all over social media. Zara Naeem’s clips were not as publicized as the starlet’s and we we never even heard about her again.

The same happened recently again when the viral Mera Dil Yeh Pukaray Aaja girl, Ayesha’s appearance in her show got so many ratings, and when she invited a medical student who won almost 25 gold medals didn’t get that many ratings.

She added that despite inviting a large number of deserving” people to her show, neither their episodes nor any video clips of them go viral because ratings decide what people want to watch on TV.

Nida Yasir concluded that she is not responsible for this as the actual culprit is the masses. She questioned why people don’t watch her show when educated people are invited. She even said that whoever goes viral on social media is expected to be invited by her to her show.
