Universal Studios Reveal New Bourne Film is in the Works

‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ filmmaker Edward Berger is reportedly in talks to direct.

Cue Moby’s “Extreme Way,” because super spy Jason Bourne is coming back to take audiences on another high-stakes adventure.

Universal Studios is gearing up for Bourne film, as it enters early development for a new installment in the blockbuster franchise. The studio is reportedly in talks with All Quiet on the Western Front director Edward Berger to helm the project.

The Bourne series, which has been a massive success with five films under its belt, boasting over $1.6 billion at the global box office, is poised to make a comeback. While the project is still in its nascent stages, insiders reveal that it marks an exciting chapter for fans of the espionage thriller.

Sources close to the development emphasize that it’s too early to predict the specifics of the film’s direction. As of now, there is no script in progress, and no writer has been attached to the project.

This leaves open the question of whether the new installment will reintroduce the original cast or take a fresh approach with a complete reboot.

The franchise, which gained immense popularity with Matt Damon in the lead role, saw him portraying the amnesiac assassin Jason Bourne.

Matt Damon’s involvement in the upcoming project remains uncertain, given the lack of a finalized script.

Similarly, the fate of Jeremy Renner, who took on the role of black ops agent Aaron Cross in 2012’s The Bourne Legacy, is also up in the air.

While it’s unclear if Renner will return to the series, some insiders suggest that the prospect might be more likely than Damon’s return.
