She was intent on playing that role. After the appreciation that she received as Meenu in ‘Chupke Chupke’, Ayeza Khan wanted to play another lighthearted and fun character.

Ayeza Khan

Ayeza Khan’s character in the drama serial Laapata hasn’t garnered a lot of love. However, Ayeza Khan made the decision to play ‘Geeti’ when given the choice.

Turns out the director and writer of Laapata, Khizer Idrees approached her with both lead roles. When given the choice to play either Geeti or Falak, she read the script to decide on a role. After reading the script, she only wanted to play Geeti and didn’t even consider the other role.

“I was offered the character of both Geeti and Falak by the director and writer. Infact, Khizer told me to read the script and tell him which character I want to play. When I read the script I fell in love with Geeti’s character and then I read the whole script from Geeti’s perspective. I forcefully did it.”

The other parallel role of ‘Falak’ is being essayed by Sarah Khan. Unlike the TikToker Geeti, Falak is a sports enthusiast and is in love with Ali Rehman Khan’s character, Shams.

After the appreciation that she received as Meenu in Chupke Chupke, Ayeza Khan wanted to play another lighthearted and fun character. This is why she insisted that she will play only Geeti’s character.

She said she resonated with the characteristics of Geeti more because the Meharposh actress is quite ‘filmy’ in real life.
