Mobile phone subscribers in Pakistan reached 120.5 million mark in September 2012. According to stats published by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, total base of cellular subscribers in Pakistan stood at 120,513,430 subscriptions as of September 30th, 2012.

PTA said that cellular tele-density reached 68.3 percent, down from 68.5 percent in July 2012.

Mobilink still tops the market with 36,073,988 subscribers while Warid has gone further down to 12,646,458 to settle at fifth and last position in the market.

Telenor, during July-September 2012, crossed 30 million subscribers’ mark with 30,162,943 subscriptions at the end of September 2012, while Zong remained top seller to attain most subscribers during the reported period. Zong had 17,801,032 subscribers to remain at fourth position.

Ufone contented with 23,829,009 subscribers by Sep end.

Cellular companies are saying that they lost customers during the (July-Sep) quarter due to data clean-up, during which Warid had to wash-out over a quarter million subscribers. Experts opine that data clean-up during recent months may bring the subscribers’ numbers further down during on-going quarter.

    • You are right but its not the kasoor of Warid. Its the management that Abu Dhabi group maintains the parchi system in all its telecom companies like wateen warid bal ubl these are consequences that has to be there when it comes F&F management

      • Totally agreed, Bank Al falah helped them a lot with there sales other wise it was much lower then that, In my contact list there is only four warid users out of 300-400

  • it seems that these figures will cross the total populations of Pakistan.
there must be some serious correction in this trend of considering SIM’s as single subscriber instead of unique users that can be measured with single CNIC and some sort of surveys to figure out actual figures of cellular subscribers…

    • Well I am pretty sure that “There are no bathrooms/Toilets in 80%” is not true for now, would have been true if you go few years back but not now.

Education situation is improving but its only on will of people themselves, no special interest/attention of govt seen on that side.

Technology is always good to have. Just gotta use positively after all it brings new opportunities and keeps you connected.
