How to Block SIMs Registered Against Your CNIC

668, the new SIM verification system is in place for quite some time now. Many of us are worried of SIMs registered against our CNIC, that we never used at all.

Mobile companies are allowing cell phone customers to block those SIMs which were never purchased by them.
You can do this by following these steps

Download form from here
Get it printed
Fill it yourself, other than mobile numbers that you want to get blocked (your respective service center will do this for you). Also leave the lower part of form.
Attach 3 copies of CNIC
And take them to concerned service center

And you are hopefully done.

Note:

Take some time out, before going to Service Center, as there would be plenty of other people in there for same purpose. Expect 1 hour or even one and a half hour wait before you get through
Please note that form downloaded from this page may not be acceptable at some service centers, as they may ask you to refill the form they will give.
Please make sure that you are not heading towards Franchises, because franchises don’t block numbers, its only Service Center that can offer you with the service. However, those cities where service centers are not available, similar arrangements have been made by franchises to block SIMs.

Few days back i saw ufone’s form and it states:
“I do hereby solemnly that following SIMs/connections are in not my use”

It is advised that don’t sign any thing like this, because it means that sims were purchased by you and now you don’t use them.

This is not right!.. Atleast in ufone we(Franchise) haf same system as the service center is hafing!!.

Both of us logs the complaint in our system, For sim blocking you guyz can go to any Ufone franchise atleast :)

and Pls note dat atleast 30 dayz of clean up tym is given before sims are removed of your name. :).

But since you will get the receiving so you dont have to worry for the misuse of Sim :)

the new subscriber numbers will show after this exercise will show real cusotmer numbers. i can imagaine the over inflated numbers by Ufone and Warid will finally come to light.

Few days back i went to ufone’s franchise, which is located in BHARA KAHU islamabad to Block SIMs Registered Against my CNIC.
They gave me a form, i filled that and returned with one attached photocopy of my cnic.
they said it will take atleast 40 days for complete procedure.

  unfortunate, but one hasn’t got much options, but to rely on mobile companies again… In my previous post (can be found here), i discussed that mobile phone companies should be charged for the offense, for deceiving people, stealing identity and other charges.
  
  By the way, as per constitution of Pakistan, a laywer confirmed me that cellular companies can be charged under rule 468, 471 and 406 of Pakistani act.
  
  Now we will have to see it PTA has got enuf guts to execute such things…

Most of the people are not aware of this nice service. Pta should send messages to all active sims in urdu to get their unused sims blocked.

Those Franchises who are not accepting the forms should be penalized. Although there argument is to an extent correct that Paper and photocopy charges are too much for them to manage.

Guys at Lahore can do this process conveniently at Samanabad Franchise.

And hum jo ker rahien hein we are getting to face the heat of customers. i request all of you to excercise some patience please.

Nopes bro you got misinformed.Always cross your photocopy before handing it over. It is compulsory though.

Requirement of CNIC copy with 668 form has been removed, However, seeing the original CNIC before entertaining the 668 complaint remains a must.

Objective

To abide by the standard operating procedure issued by Pakistan Telecom Authority on 17th September 2009 regarding cleanup of subscribers data through the short code 668 ensuring registration of mobile numbers on actual customer antecedents.

What is 668 & how does it Work?

* 668 is a short code where Customers will be able to SMS their CNIC numbers {13 digits without dashes}, in return the customer will get a response from PTA’s database on the count of mobile numbers active against the CNIC at each operator’s end.

* The return SMS will be in this format {Mobilink: 00,SCO: 00,Telenor: 00, ufone:00, Warid:00, Zong:00 Total:00 Data provided by Mobile Companies. Visit concerned Customer Service Centre for Correction }

* The customer will tally this info and in case of any discrepancy will visit the nearest service centre or franchise centre of the respective operator for rectification of records and removal of disowned numbers against his/her name.

* Each SMS sent on 668 will be charged @ Rs 2/- plus tax to the said customer.

we have to submit 3 copies of our cnic and next day we found more sims registered on our name and then we have to repeat the same procedure again.

why dont we call their help line and ask the no registered on our name and block those no . so through that way they have to panic not us.

Please note that PTA launched da new system of Sim Activation under which customer has to activate da sim all by himself. no other person can activate sim on anybodies behalf as certain personal questions are being asked to verify the customer.

So i dun think k dere is any need of worrying k more sims will be put on your name :)

And also please note that PTA system is to an extent outdated. Please visit rhe service centers or franchises to get da Exact number of sims on ur NIC :)

I happened to put in my old ID card number on the website and it should me the SIMs issued on the old ID card number in addition to those issued on the new CNIC. Therefore please check your old ID card numbers as well!!

U all people plz did nt rely on PTA information only u all should visit the offices of all cellular companies and chek it out. On my id card 15 illegal sims r issued and when i went all companies offices there r 25 illegal sims issued against my id.So plz dont rely on PTA’s record only chek it out by ur self personaly thank u whats ur opinion aamir bhai?

PTA should make this process easier for subscribers of all companies either by introducing an online system where one can submit the form through their website or send a scanned copy of the signed, fingerprinted form via email along with a full color scanned copy of the CNIC. Standing in a long queue to correct cellular companies’ records, which contain a large number of falsified entries through no fault of our own, is a total waste of our time!
