skype nokia 237x300 Now Skype with Your Nokia Phone Skype has published a free mobile application for Symbian in the Ovi Store, which is going to enable over 200 million Nokia handset users to easily download the program and start making free Skype-to-Skype calls from their phones.

Skype for Symbian, which you can download straight from the Skype website, will run on any Nokia smartphone using Symbian^1, the latest version of the Symbian platform.

Skype for Symbian enables Nokia smartphone users to:

Make free Skype-to-Skype calls to other Skype users anywhere in the world*
Save money on calls and texts (SMS) to phones abroad
Send and receive instant messages to and from individuals or groups
Share pictures, videos and other files
Receive calls to their existing online number
See when Skype contacts are online and available to call or IM
Easily import names and numbers from the phone’s address book

  Even considering mobile GPRS or EDGE cost, it will be much cheaper to make calls through skype. And if you are using Zong’s hourly internet package, then it’s gonna be around Rs. 20/hr for skype to skype calls.
  
  But do expect stiff resistance by cellular networks and PTA here as this will definitely eat into their revenue. Even if our cellular networks don’t block this outright, they’ll most probably try to create nuisances by degrading network quality for VoIP packets etc…

    dude nimbuzz pwns this application and just so that you know zongs net is so slow there is a big diffrenece in when you say something and the other person hears it …. lol ufone works fine though

Sorry guys this information is for 3G users. You can’t have voice over IP call on 2G.

  “WiFi connection or 3G/2G data connection (we cannot guarantee voice quality over 3G/2G. You may also be liable to additional data charges so please check with your operator before using).”

huh its only for symbian S60 9.3 ver5 only.Yeah Fring n Nimbuzz doing great.My choice is Nimbuzz.

now video call is also possible on 2G. symbian handsets with gprs can make video calls.
