Ufone Gets Deputy CEO

Mr. Saoud Abdulaziz Bin Hadef Al Shamsi has joined Ufone as Deputy CEO reporting to Mr. Abdul Aziz, President & CEO.

Mr. Saoud is a UAE national and has been with Etisalat since 1997 with rich experience from different countries and strong exposure in sales & marketing domain. Prior to joining Ufone, he was VP International Investment- Strategy & Business Development at Etisalat.

Currently Ufone management hasn’t shared his roles and responsibilities and level involvement in Ufone matters, while official notification was served late Wednesday.

We couldn’t arrange official confirmation of the appointment.

There were certain rumors that this role might lead to replacement of current CEO. However, this has been denied by many credible officials. It seems as more of a mentoring activity whereby Etisalat wants to build leaders through sending them to their different operations (in different countries) for gaining diverse experience and exposure. After a certain period, such individuals on international assignment might lead an operation in another country or another new setup / acquisition by Etisalat.

  • It does not matter if they have a new Dep CEO, COO or any other C *** – Ufone are dead in the water as a business.

  • Well, until now Ufone was a pretty well-managed company as Etisalat was not interfering in it (and destroying it like PTCL) but letting them function independently. But now, it seems like they’ve decided to bring Ufone down too.

  • aamir bhai self playing ad. special the one at the top of ur site (ufone) is vvvvvvvvvvvvv annoying plz stop that….. the one on the rite side zong is still bearable atleast it doesn’t sounds auto.

  • An insane man to head a sane business operation…. Ufone is gone now with Walid Irshaid at its helm.
Ufone will discover the true meaning of chaos as Mr Irshaid and his merry men will focus on their selves and their fragile egos.

    Etisalat (UAE) wake up
