PTCL earlier today warned its customers about some fraudulent companies campaigning different fake schemes by issuing a press release. Here is what the content of the press release mentioned:
It has come to the knowledge of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) that some unknown companies, firms and/or personnel are using deceptive marketing practices including door to door campaigns by using PTCL’s Products & Services and fraudulently swindling money from the general public by offering the different Prize Schemes/Packages/Campaigns coupled with other Services of PTCL.
PTCL, therefore intimate its existing and potential customers NOT to entertain, trust or fall for such activities initiated by certain companies, firms and/or personnel. All the existing and potential customers are STRICTLY advised to utilize authorized franchisees, customer care centers, website and PTCL designated toll free numbers for information and subscription of PTCL’s Product and Services.
PTCL shall not be liable for any loss to any person in consequence of such fraudulent activities and deceptive marketing practices by the third parties.
It merits mentioning here that ProPakistani had warned readers about fake wireless broadband ISPs working on same patterns. Please do call on official numbers of the respective companies to check on any schemes if you get a call.

I had recieved a call at my PTCL landline last night claiming that i had won some 10 lacs through any scheme they had introduced earlier.
But thanks to the deceptive society we are living in, I got that it was fake and today it got proved..!
someone called me and said that you can get 2 Mb link at rs 1000/month. he will deliver to me at door step. how the hell he is doing that???? :o
As per advertisement by Newspaper and others, I have recently filed an application for new connection and DSL however no any response has yet been received, complete guide line may please be sent on my mail
i had received a call on my landline ptcl, from that number,04237035859, and he told me that i had won 10lac rupees, and this was announced at TV twice,so i should receive that amount by responding to the same number,and talk to any offices.
But there is no such thing on the official ptcl site, and for my surprise this number is not detecting by any online phone directory, so there is no source to justify that number.

I today received the call, their claim was I won 10 lac. I said Thank you, you can have it yourself.
The pity is this that nobody in the administration of PTCL cares to terminate the phone no. They are just typical network with the mindset of counting the calls made, not counting the frauds made to their customers.
What should a common citizen like me do to help the lustful nation to be protected from such happenings if i cannot track the source through ptcl.(No body cares)
