Ufone Increases Helpline Charges

After Telenor and Mobilink, it’s Ufone turn now, to increase the helpline charges. Following notice appeared in Dailies today, according to which:

After July 15th,

  • all calls made to helpline will be charged at Rs. 1 plus tax
  • If you listen to IVR and disconnect, then no extra charges will apply
  • If you opt to talk with customer care representative, then addition Rs. 1 plus tax will be deducted.

So, after July 15th, you will have to pay Rs. 2.39 (including tax), if you want to get help or to register a complaint.

As always and like everyone, Ufone is saying that this increase in helpline charges is to provide premium support to customers.

  • Yeh bus kamanay kae tarekayen hai aur kuch nahi.

Koe Quality improve nahi hote wahi wait wait wait karna parta hai.

  • right koi fark nae parta es taran karnay say
awaz sab say ziada ufone ki break hoti hai ous per tou koi kam nae kartay ya log

  • a few days back mobilink help line kept me on hold for 20+ minutes this is the quality of helplines

    • yeah! same with me… and i want to port out my sim from Warid to Mobilink and till now my sim is still in warid network.. this is their service..

      • I am literally impressed with the quality of service. I wonder if this quality continues; cost will jump to Rs10/- per minute in some days.

Wow I haven’t experienced such a quality of life in either country. Pakistan rocks !!!

“samjh tay tussi gay ee hovo gay :p” (punjabi)

  • Why are you surprised? I already said this would happen when you posted the Telenor story. It costs each company more than 20 rupees for every call you make to their helpline, so for them to charge you is only logical!

Here GSM services are so cheap, yet everything is an issue for the subscriber. People posting here need to do research on helpline charges around the world before crying about it!

  • THE REASON IS THE COST OF CALL COZ THESE COMPANIES USE LICENSED SOFTWARES AND PPL WHO ATTEND CALLS ARE PAID THE EXPENDITURE OF THOSE PREMISED AND ALL THAT STUFF SO THERE IS A AVERAGE COST TO EVERY CALL….ALSO THE UNREASONABLE CALLS MADE INCREASE THE CALL LOAD DUE TO WHICH CUSTOMER WITH GENUINE ISSUE SUFFER…BUT A WE PAKIS LIKE IS TO JUST CRTICIZE WITH OUT KNOWING THE FACTS…

  • M wt u both above me.. Yeh roti qaum hay hamesha roti hay..they jst want me me … Dnt c thngs frm other aspects aswel.

  • @majid
bro i doubt your claim that they use original software as a cause of this increased rate

using original licensed software ha ha ha

they don’t even bother paying royalties to artists for songs they charge us when we use them as caller ring-tones

and if they even use licensed software it is their expenditure why should user be charged every time they make an expense one day they might say “we would like to inform you that calling rates have been increased as an office building of ours had caught fire”

is there any one to back me up ???

    • U DUN SEEM TO HAVE MUCH INFO ABOUT TELCO…SO U HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY SUCH THINGS…KEEP IT UP IT BOTHERS NO BODY….LOLZ

      • so u are here to defend telcos who got involved in scandals such as over-charging users and even charging for balance inquiry

        https://propakistani.pk/2010/09/15/two-mobile-operators-found-guilty-of-over-charging/

and have the habit to put a small * end of ads saying condition apply and the conditions and which u cant read even on a 42inch plasma screen

the problem is that PTA is also not going is duty also if google apple or microsoft could fined why cant pta do so and if they fine why dont they make it public

        • i am not being personal to u @majid
but i want to tell u they every time tecos find a loop hole in the system to beat us

          • i knw u r not being personal but there are many reasons of such decisions,,,the below comment by Mr Wohoo says all i wntd to say…

  • This infalition which is now effecting every sector
    No way other than this.
Further they have gone soo cheap in price war that it is now the matter of sarvival

  • this increase would be justified it they pick the call on first beep from now on

  • Rational understanding of both sides is required. Companies are out to make money so when you purchase anything, be clear to have in your head that you are helping someone gain. Simple!

Comparison with other countries is illogical. GDP is not the same. The minimum pay scale in this country is established at under USD 100. Even that is not followed. How many paying their cleaning folks Rs7000?

So, helpline costs are capped and not by minute. Furthermore, the cost of keeping a human being at the other end of the phone is also there. After all, would you be willing to take calls for peanuts?

As costs soar, it is the consumer who gets slugged. If you feel quality is not good, switch your carrier. If all are not good, return to non-mobile times.

  • Essar Group to exit telecom business in Africa – report

Indian conglomerate Essar Group is exiting its telecommunication businesses in Africa, reports The Economic Times. The telecommunication service operations it acquired from Warid Telecom in Uganda and Congo are being returned and the group is looking for a buyer for its Kenya operations. The group had struck a deal for a majority stake in Warid Telecom’s operations in Uganda and Congo in November 2009, with an enterprise value of USD 318 million. The deal fell through because required approvals were not received. “It was mutually decided between the partners, Essar and Warid Group, not to proceed with the deal closure as certain condition precedents pertaining to government clearance were not met,” Essar said in a statement. The assets are being returned to Warid, which will have to pay back Essar. The paper’s sources did not say how much Warid would pay. Essar is also looking to sell its telecommunication operations in Kenya. The group had bought it for about USD 150 million and invested another USD 100 million in it. It would be willing to sell it for about USD 300 million. Essar had approached Bharti airtel, but it declined the proposal as it is still consolidating its acquisition of Zain in the region. The group has approached other operators in Africa, who so far have not expressed interest. Essar had shuffled management at the Kenya telecommunication company in preparation to sell. “Essar remains committed to the African market and is satisfied with its operations in Kenya. It is not evaluating any sell off options,” the company said, in response to a query on Kenya. If it is able to sell the Kenya business, the group will make a full exit of the telecommunication sector.

  • Dear All,

Telecom industry in pakistan have been working on the aspect of cost & Benifit policy.Reason for Ufone and Telenor/Moblink to increase Helpline charges is a particular one that they want thier Contact Centers to earn for themselves from thier own sources and to reduce burrden on the company. For this main Reason Helpline charges being inceased.

Secondly We as a Nation Wont stop calling on Helpline.Whether we eat or not but we must make a call at Contact Centers to bother the Customer Services Representative. In simple Prank Callers.

  • Quality Improve karni koi nahi or …. charges…. Isi liye ufone ki sim use karna chor d…. network sub se ghattiya…useless network. Tum hee tou ho.

  • Extremely sh** step has taken by Ufone, their services are also getting sh** day by day.

  • Dear majid,
i agree about the load due to fake and unusual calls laod on helpline, what it means that, charges will deploy to such helpline facility .. and such 2.39 Rs Charges, i think after Re:1 charge, load was much lesser than before.
its rubbish to increase it day by day, after putting alot much taxes on recharge, calls and sms packages.

  • ______ conditions….! i m gonna switch to other network… neither they respond earlier nor take any action against complaint… har package mein koi na koi ____ wali condition hotiii he hai.. banda jaye to kahan jaye?
