Pakistani Taliban have accused Rehman Malik, Ministr Interior, for blocking cellular services in the country for his own personal businesses interest.

This was stated by a Pakistani Taliban Spokesperson during an interview with Dawn.com, while explaining that group does not carry out bombings using cellular phones as detonators.

Dawn.com further mentions that Pakistani Taliban reaffirmed that they will continue their activities even during the blockade of cellular services.

However, Pakistani authorities say that militants often detonate bombs using cell phones, with Interior Minister Rehman Malik claiming that 90 per cent of the bombs set off by militants in Pakistan have been detonated using mobile phones.

Amid security threats, cellular services in 50 major cities of Pakistan were suspended for 48 hours (except for 12 AM to 6 AM) on 9th and 10th of Muharram.

It merits mentioning here that two bombs were detonated in DI Khan, on 9th and 10th of Muharram killing 13 people in total despite blocked of cellular services in the city. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had claimed responsibility for blast on 9th Muharram.
