Zong Updates Prices for Select 3G/4G MBB Packages

Zong is in process of revising its mobile broadband packages and prices for at least four plans have been increased at the rate of 1 paisa per MB.

According to an advertisement published in papers, four Zong Mobile Broadband 3G and 4G packages are being revised.

It must be mentioned that the usual Zong packages will remain the same but only the below mentioned MBB packages (that come with dongles or MiFis) are being revised.

This move from Zong is a sign that telecom operators are now going to rationalize their prices. Zong, that was previously conceived as an aggressive operator, has taken the lead in right-pricing data bundles, a move that other operators are going to follow very soon.

While customers might not like the package revisions, competing operators will be very relieved as everyone had to do this one day (exactly like we had previously hinted).

Not to mention, Zong is putting a special focus on the 4G market where it has grabbed more than 2 million customers already. Zong also said that it will invest heavily in 4G network during 2017 to make sure that its high-speed broadband is stretched across the country.

Zong already has more than 6,000 4G cell sites and their number is likely to grow substantially during the next 12 months.

    • Exactly, Performance of my zong is not same as it used to be initially. Thinking to abandon it forever :)
      Perhaps local CableNet would be better than this expensive shit.

    • yes so that demand falls and there is less competition for bandwidth. this will mean faster speeds for those who can afford it. don’t you people understand demand and supply?

    • Zong got more and more customers due to its good speed & price. Now this customer load is degrading its performance. If Zong really increased prices like this, customers will switch to other options and its performance can increase again : )

    But I fear that other Telecom operators will follow soon.
    Otherwise Zong will revert backto the old prices.
    Chances of first option are most likely.

  • Zong 24 Gb = 1500 Rs.
    PTCL EVO 60 Gb = 1710 Rs.

    Koi pagal hi zong lai ga. i just switched from zong to ptcl evo

  • Zong is already cheating people with heavy cache, not all the bandwidth is actual, except for some cases. They rely heavily on cached contents and more to add to worries they have announced price hike, Certainly will not do good for Zong.

    50 GB – 25% increase
    150 GB – 60% increase
    200 GB – 66.67% increase

  • I went to buy the Zong 4G device a couple of weeks ago in Blue Area Islamabad, the representative there was very confident and said this device is selling like hot cakes, especially the 6 monthly 50GB bundle offer (that I also availed). He said that before this offer, the device used to sell in hundreds/month and now its selling in thousands/month. They have seen customer inflow and adjusted prices accordingly. What remains to be seen is whether existing customers are affected or not.

    • That’s interesting. The representative on the phone told me last week that the extra 25GB was no longer included in the RS 2,000 (50GB) package. It was only available until 30th December 2016. When did you recharge?

  • This is what happens when Mergers and Acquisitions take place. Warid is gone, so now we have Four providers who are feeling confident to start raising their prices, without any regard to Quality. Do note that Prices of International Bandwidth are consistently falling in Pakistan, and better and better Web Cache solutions are being utilized by these Providers, saving them more money.

      • Great yeh package abhi bhi active hai, you can pay for you 6/12 months and avail these discounts. I am confused ke new device li jae ya old device par hi 6 months ka charge kia jae? Device aapne 2.5k ki kahan bechi? How to sell it?

          Shukar hai mein ne 1 year 50gb per month pkg kiya 18k mein free zong mifi device bhi mili 3k ki :)

          So one can still avail old rates for 1 year. Hope you don’t mind now : )

    Buy Qubee shuttle device 2mb package monthly bill will not increase 1300rs max.

    excellent service.

    but you need buy a separate router [which support wimax, i am using tenda 150 pocket router can give single all over 120 yards home] for wifi add 1500 or 2000 1 time cost.because the shuttle device is not wifi supported

    i am enjoying my connection no disconnect.

    and zong , telenor they dont have any calculation of your data usage just frauds.

  • still zong is the most thakar network in our area.. even ufone is performing better in our area. good coverage in only Layyah city in surrounding areas and layyah kot adu G. T road telenor is a winner by a margin

  • crazy prices. iss se behter tho ptcl charji hai, i own both zong 4g mbb and ptcl and charji devices are better. much better battery timing because larger batteries and ptcl provides 50% more volume in Rs. 2500 (75 GB) whereas zong providing 50 GB in 2500. Charji has 50 GB in 2000 rupees.

  • Its does not matter ppl.. coz i been a fan of zong prices and services no longer have the same regardsfor it. It’s gone worst and i hardly buy any package on it. I have shifted to other sims for purposes of 3G/4G.. sayanora to zong.

    Just look at this. If i need to activate 200GB package i can activate 100GB package twice in a month. Still i save Rs.2000

    200GB = Rs.10000
    100+100=200GB Rs.4000+4000=8000

    10000-8000 = 2000

    So why should i spend Rs.10000 on 200GB???

    I hope, these rates are not correct.

  • I left PTCL and swtiched to ZONG but after this increased price I believe I will to take back my decision !

  • 200GB in 10,000 — Use (100GB in 4,000) twice and save 2,000 :D
    150GB in 8,000 — Use (100GB in 4,000) + (50GB in 2,500) and save 1,500

  • i am user zong but price too much high i change my home internet wi tribe 1800 PRS if i pay 3 month payment i get one month extra i think thats butter than zong

  • Recharged my PTCL EVO LTE device with 75GB @ 2500 Rs. Its giving better download speed then zong.

  • Ditched Zong when they increased the price. Internet speed varies from 0.5 Mbps to 19 Mbps which is very frustrating. 50 Gb limit is not enough. Forced to buy witribe which offers unlimited internet. Further I have heard that witribe is going to offer LTE soon in July this year with data limit upto 90 Gb with same prices..
