Pakistan is Going to Use Google Maps to Help Voters

More than 70,000 proposed polling stations have been linked with Google Maps by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

In Islamabad, a meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza looked into ways to facilitate Pakistani voters. The decision to use Google Maps was undertaken in this regard.

This decision will enable voters to locate the polling stations on Google Maps. Furthermore, voters will also be able to calculate the distance to the nearest and registered polling station from their homes.

CEC and other members of the meeting lauded the work done by the employees and also decided to display the Google linked polling stations to the political parties and media in future.

It was agreed in the meeting that these polling stations will be equipped with all the basic facilities before the next general elections take place.
