Samsung’s budget “J” series is getting a new entry this month. The Galaxy J7 Nxt is an updated version of the vanilla 2015 variant of the Samsung Galaxy J7. It is currently available in India and only and will launch in other countries in the next few weeks.
The J7 Nxt will be priced at $180 in India and is available in Black and Gold colors. We can expect it to come soon to Pakistan.
Design and Display
The J7 Nxt looks almost completely identical to the original J7 of old. Samsung does point out that it comes with a textured plastic back (“patterned” in the official images) and a unicolor design. The textured back is a nice touch especially when most phones come with a slippery metal/glass back.
It comes with a 5.5 inch HD (1280 x 720) AMOLED display. AMOLED is Samsung’s speciality so you can expect eye-pleasing saturated colors and deep blacks.
Internals and Storage
Under the hood, you get a 1.6 GHz Exynos 7580 Octa core processor with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 256 GB via a microSD card slot. It is a 4G enabled phone and comes with dual SIM card slots.
For the OS the J7 Nxt features the Android 7.0 Nougat, as is the norm, with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz/Grace UX.
Camera and Battery
The J7 Nxt features a 13 MP camera on the back with f/1.9 aperture, coupled with an LED flash. Up front you get a 5 MP sensor with an LED flash as well.
Powering the phone is a 3,000 mAh battery. The battery is removable which is a plus, however it doesn’t come with fast charging support.
